lots of assessments

Form next week, we will be busy again because there are five important assessments we will hand out in two weeks. Research project, oral communication which is speaking journey, term paper and attending lecture, these will take me lots of time to write ,and after these, final presentation and final exam will be coming. I think this semester is passed very fast, final exams are coming soon and I will be a normal university student after (hopefully). I do not like all assessments hand out at a very close time because it can make me tired. I decided to write research project and speaking journey in this weekend, and book project and attending lecture will be done in next weekend, then the term paper which has a high proportion of my final writing mark will be finished in the last week. This is my plan; moreover, I hope I will follow it to finish all my assessments.

Now I am doing my research project, I have to finish all three today because I will go to work tomorrow. If I am done all three, I will try to write other assessment soon. In fact, I do not like doing these assessments because I think I may not use these skills in the future. But who knows, maybe it will be useful for me later, so I have to finish them.

Games

Well, I love playing games, especially RPG game; however, sometimes I also try other types of games. These days I was playing PSP games when I was nothing to do. The game which called “Musou Orochi” is very interesting and I was always playing it.

It can take me a lot of time to play, I know I need more time to study, but I was a litter tied to learn English. I think I am not good at learning language, sometimes I feel it is hard. I like to take more time to play games because I want to become an animator or a computer game designer after I graduate from university. I always spend lots of time on watching cartoon movies and playing games to see what other people did in this area.

Actually, before I came here, I wanted to apply an art college to study art and design; nevertheless, my mom did not agree. She thought if I just studied in this area, I would not find a good job and it was very hard to earn more money. I had to think about my faculty again, and I thought computer science was very close to my dream job, so I chose to study it in the university. I hope I will do well in the future.

mid-term already

Time changes so fast, there are just almost five weeks in this semester, and the Mid-term Exam is coming soon. I am very nervous in these days because I am not sure if I will pass this level or the Mid-term Exam. Some people who are studying this level in last semester told me that this level was very easy to pass; however, I do not think so, maybe because I am not smart or good enough. I have already studied English for many years, and I do not want to study more and more years. It likes when people eat some food, and if they always eat the same food, they will hate it and do not want to eat any more. I think English as well. I just studied English and no other courses after I came to Canada in September the year before last year, so it makes me feel being annoyed. I do not want to think more, I will try my best to finish this level. I hope I can pass this level in this semester. Hopefully!

Still Snowing

Today was really cold, and I just arrived at home from my work place. It has been snowing for a few hours; however, I do not know if it can continue snowing until tomorrow. I am really tired and sleepy now because I was working for seven hours today. Fortunately, there were just a few customs came to Subway, and I thought maybe because it was so cold that nobody wanted to go outside.

When I was in my way home, I thought if the C-Train did not come, what I could do. In my experience, while the weather liked that, the C-Train always delayed or slowed down. My mind just came out a movie which named The Day after Tomorrow. I did not know why I was thinking it, maybe because it was cold and everything I saw was freezing. There were a bit of cars driven on the street, and few people were walking. At the time when I arrived the C-Train university station, I wish I would have a car and it could be very useful during the bad weather liked that.

It was very late now, I have to go to sleep because I want to wake up earlier in the morning, moreover, I hope tomorrow will warm than today!!!

Best way to learn a foreign language

In my opinion, the best way to learn a foreign language is staying in the country which you want to speak their language. This can create a good situation for you that you have to speak and listen this kind of language. In this country, everything you see and hear is the foreign language. Although you maybe not feel comfortable at first, soon you can find that you learn more in your daily life from anywhere or anyone.
In a class is the normal way that we learn something because when we don't know the answers, we can ask our teachers. They know what students need and what the mistakes we always make so that they should teach us in the best ways. Instructors teach the students in a great and specific way that what the language is; however, you can also learn the oral language from outside.
Actually, going outside of class is a great way to study a language because sometimes you have already known the knowledge that your instructor told you before. If you pay attention in your way home or in a supermarket, you can find there are more native things that you can learn likes what you can say in the different situation as a native speaker.

study

This semester has almost finished, and I am not sure if I can pass this level. Certainly, I hope I can go to next level successful. Today is the last day we have classes; however, I don’t realize that we will face the final exam tomorrow for a long time. The time passed so fast for me, and I have been Canada for one year. In this year, I learn lots of things which I never know before, such as living by myself, cooking and buying food. Everything has to be done by myself and I am surprised that I enjoy my life like that. I will go back China on Dec.22 to Jan.5. It is not a very long time, but I have to go because there are many reasons let me do; however, I don't want to show my reasons here.(although many people have already knew it....-_0|||) Haha~~

stay well

I met with Susan on Sunday afternoon in the Student Center to discuss something about paraphrasing and summarizing. Susan came from a small town which is near Calgary, and her sister was my classmate before; as a result, Susan and I also become friends. I found that I did not know how to paraphrase and summarize, so I wanted to know how to do that well in our writing. I thought that the local students might know how to do it because they must be practiced for many times when they were young. During the discussion, she showed me some paragraphs in the article as examples, which is from her book, and told me how to write. She told me that the best way to paraphrase and summarize is to use the different grammar structure and different words which has the same meaning as the words that you want to instead of. It is the same as what our writing book said. Also, the good way to paraphrase and summarize is practicing. If practice more, you will be more familiar with it, and you will know how to write it. After the meeting, I felt I studied a lot about paraphrasing and summarizing. I knew them more clearly than before. Now, the most important thing for me is to practice more and more about it. Finally, I feel that communicating with a native speaker is a good way to study more things about academic English.
